PARTICIPATION IN “NOTTE BIANCA”

The event known as Notte Bianca is held in Valletta on an annual basis; it is a spectacular, night-long celebration of culture and the arts as well as of the people who usually attend in record numbers.

The streets and cultural venues of the capital city come alive throughout the night hosting various activities, exhibitions and performances.

The sixth edition of this event will be taking place on Saturday, 1st October. Among its 75 different attractions and places of interest, this year's edition will include Badminton for the first time.

In fact, Badminton Malta will be present in the atrium of St. James Cavalier, where a mini badminton court will be set up.

Those attending this venue will be able to try their hand at playing Badminton; there is no age limitation to play this sport.

Detailed information about Badminton as well as about local clubs will be available, together with filmed and live demonstrations. Local national champions will be on hand to talk to the visitors and to assist beginners venturing on court for the first time.

Badminton is a modern Olympic sport which has now established itself in schools as well as on the national sports scene; it is particularly popular among youths.

Badminton Malta expressed its satisfaction at being given this opportunity to showcase its sport to the thousands of people who will be attending Notte Bianca.

While inviting the general public to visit, the Association expressed its gratitude to the Notte Bianca organisers – the Malta Council for Culture and the Arts – as well as to the management of St. James Cavalier for their cooperative and supportive attitude.
